| I have Line 6 UX2 external sound card. Latency is about 4 ms. It costs about 179 $. Also you get some free apps, like ableton, pod farm, reason adapted. It is nice sound card to start your home recording studio. In future plans I'm dreaming about getting a good monitors. Maybe you can give me some advice? | |

179$ = 141€ for about 4ms Great choice! Of course my friend! First check this topic I think it will help you out! http://mixingtips.org/crbst_11.htmlIf you can't afford the yamahas go for RKR Rokit or even mackies When you are done please send a post and let me know if the article helped you. By the way, how much money are you willing to spend?

| I forgot about thomann.de )).. And you remembered it to me. I'm thinking of buying an M-Audio AV40 (118 Euros). But now I'm confused, cause my friend has M-Audio StudioPro3 (68 Euros) and I liked it very much. I'm trying to aim the price at about 100 -120 Euros, because I think 250 - 400 Euros is too much for home recording studio. Or maybe I blunder. P.S. I liked your post about monitors | |

P.S. I liked your post about monitors Well, generally, 400 euros are too much yes. But I have to say that the 400 euros I spent for the yamahas... are the best 400 euros i've ever spent hehe I know that i've spent them and I won't need to spend for monitors again (I hope so cause i love trying new stuff ) If you really CAN spend money for the yamahas i suggest you do it. Now about the M-Audio StudioPro3 and the AV40. There is one big advantage for the studiopro3. And that is that you had the opportunity to try them and as you said you liked them. Spend some more time with them and go and get them. The "key" is to "learn" your monitors and you'll save some bucks too (68 bucks is damn a good price). 1) If you have a chance to try the AV40 do this first. 2) If you can afford the Yamahas do this second. 3) And last, if you liked the studiopro 3 GO GET THEM! Hope I helped. Ask whatever you need

| I was mixing only with my AKG K55 reference headphones, but mixes were all too "thin", so i decided to buy a couple of monitors..I've made hell of a research, as i live in Turkey i don't have much options and as pricing, Turkey is kinda fucked up place Shortly said, i've discovered Kurzweil KS-40A, which is way more better than Behringers and M-Audio's in the same price range..It's like 120 bucks in here, but i've seen even 59$ prices in some web-sites in USA.. Its so versatile, gives you the stereo image so well, but it lacks (natural for a monitor set in this price) the basses below nearly 90hz..I've found a solution for this anyhow, i've connected my old Creative 4+1's Sub into this system, and voila! I've got superb low's and clear and depth mid and highs.. | |

Having an extra monitor for bass makes me feel that i don't have a real image of my EQ spectrum. If you know how your monitors work with your bass then I am done with it Why don't you order from abroad? From thomann or dv247 for example?

| The reason I ask is cause you wrote that you don't have many price options. If your country doesn't give you options then the internet is your friend... and ebay You can find some bargains and save you some money! Unfortunately the music-production equipment is too expensive especially for students I know I know... | |
