Real Drums VS Digital Drums

ease of use,simplicity,final product,ability to change things on the fly-these are why digital is going to take over.

many times in studios,the drums are triggered anyways.

with that in mind what makes more sense?

tracking real drums is dead for the most part.

and i am a huge fan of drums.from a players standpoint,i will always stick with an acoustic set.

from an engineering standpoint,it doesn't prove itself beneficial to use real drums.

YMMV.

there are some great kick sounds like dream theater for example and i cant find a trigger for this. i like the fat kick sound that is not buried by the low frequencies if you know what i mean.

fat, precice and clean.

I have drumagog but i really need some great kicks samples hm...

i really like the kick in James Labrie's album elements of persuasion.

Superior Drummer 2.0 with The Metal Foundry expansion is truly amazing... i am not promoting their stuff. but ever since I bought it I only find better and better sounds coming out of my daw. Even the old version called ezdrummer with drumkitfromhell expansion sounded badass ... I'm pretty sure all drums in the near future will all be triggered because of the fact that clicking a mouse to switch kick drums/mics or cymbals/mics or changing out snares is much easier than physically doing it with $ being a limiting factor ....and i forgot ... you NEED real drums in order to make SAMPLES so im not quite sure real drums will ever be completly abandoned.

the need will always be there def.plus they are mad fun.

but,i cant find a need in this phase of my recording life.

I agree with Jokull, SD2.0 w/Metal Foundry IS awesome...but it sounds so much better with Drumagog on the kick and snare. I mean the snare with metal foundry sounds thin but that's just IMO.
