| please tell me that the sound of the guitar is ENGL Overall, i like it a lot! But since you asked for more "depth" of the mix lets go: 1) Snare is a little "can you find me inside the chaotic frequencies"? Try to replace it with drumagog for a more "ready to mix" snare or eq what you've got. Make some room for it by cutting some frequencies of other instruments Be careful though 2) Try boosting some mids from your guitar amp and leave the low frequencies to the bass guitar. Hi pass guitar about 100hz or so (if you havent done it already) 3) i feel the mix is kinda "heavy" like instruments compete each other. Did you put hi and low pass filter to the instruments that dont need some frequencies? Just to make room you know. 4) add a slight presence about 3kz to your kick drum. 1-2db will be fine. 5) drums needs some more "to your face" sound. Try to add this to your drum group http://www.stillwellaudio.com/?page_id=18Blend to taste! I liked it though. Noiseless, good guitar sound. | |

| Sounds better to my ears too good job! But you can experiment more like: 1) Boost with a wide Q at the midrange of guitars. not much. Use multiband compression on this midrange to tighten things up and makeup the gain 2) Cut some mids from your bass(about 1 or 2 db with a fairly wide eq. Do not overdo it will be noticable, we only want to make room) 3) Hi-pass bass at about 35-40hz. Yeap i actually said bass. While i am listening more ideas are coming to my head hehe. I am currently writing an article on how to mix bass guitar and kick drum to blend together as a whole and dont compete each other. I'll let you know when i'll upload it | |

Which impulses are you working with? You should give a try to the Orange2x12 Impulse by FearComplexMusic, it's really really good. | |

| Thanks! I cant send seperate wav. files since im using Cubase AI5 and have about 15 to 20 tracks for everything because im using Superior Drummer 2.0 with multichannel output to cubase.... I really need to re-record the guitars with more mids on the preamp... i just go the e530 so im still working on getting my sound dialed in... I have used the orange impulse also which i will link you to... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13376148/Engl-Orange.mp3 | |
