Did you use EZdrummer?
I am familiar with this sound hehe and I kind dont like EZdrummer very much hehe.

Dude mix was really nice. It could be much better but that wasn't your fault
You did right what you had to do, but you need some better programs.

Check this topic it'll help you try some new stuff:
http://www.forum-mixingtips.org/software-vst-f7/list-of-guitar-and-bass-ampsim-software-t53.htm

Now my friend, please try cutting some db of your hi-hat it gets really annoying since its programmed and its sound isn't the best you can get.
I dont mean to cut it out, but duck it a little so the listener wont say "Damn this hi hat!!" haha.

When I listened to your song i almost heard a guitar playing in the middle which I really liked cause it suited the mix and gave a nice tone.
Bring its volume up Smile

Overall: Great mixing hands, average sound sources.

- bass is a little foreground, make a narrow cut in 250hz like -4db and 150gz like -1.5/2db, also make a wide cut like in 550hz like -2db..u can also give some boost in 2k like 2db..

- hats are way too thin and has treble..and also whole drums doesnt sound "close to ears" so much..firstly, make a hi-cut in 15000hz, also make a boost in a very wide range in 550-600hz and make it at most 2db, else it begins to sound shitty Razz, give a little 2.5k and 75hz to Kick drum, 3db in 300hz to snare..

- quad tracked? why would you do so? in normal conditions, dual tracking (only 1 for left and 1 for right, hard-panned) is quite enough..Try using VST's for your guitars mate, it'll satisfy you more than your Crate, for sure Wink

Thanks for your great advice, really appreciated as im really not good at mixing and one of my ears are partially deaf
Sad so i need all the help i can get. Yeah i use SD2.0 upgraded EZDrummer so yeah its the EZdrummer samples alot of those vsts i have and have tried the free ones but i never can get a decent sound out of them (ill send u a mix with the legion amp soon) cheers the guitar in the middle is part of the harmony lead and i didnt really like it too loud as its not very good playing lol!
I will work on the advice you gave me and see how it goes cheers

P.S www.myspace.com/theomexustrail this is what my older mixes are like from top to bottom old to older lol!

hi, and thanks for your advice, really appreciated so i just wet the bass with a lil more reverb and ill adjust those freqs cheers i quad track as it seems more fatter and less phasing IMO and the free vsts they sound great yes, but i just cant get a good sound out of them ( like your awesome mixes) maybe i can upload a test tune i did with the free legion amp vst and you maybe help me improve the vst amps sound?

anyhow will try your great advice cheers
